Bilingual Communications

The Office of Communications has strategically created a Bilingual Communications division to produce and manage content that provides language access to over 17,000 Spanish-speaking students and families.

Language Access Services for Spanish Speaking Community:

  • Infórmese - This monthly video series features District achievements and provides bilingual families with relevant, up-to-date information and resources.
  • Nuestra Voz - Monthly segments help bridge the language gap and give a voice to MSCS Spanish-speaking audiences by highlighting our schools, students, and families. Nuestra Voz features various segments.
    • Nuestra Escuela | Our Schools ‐ Highlights our schools in 60 seconds.
    • Nuestras Familias | Our Family ‐ Provides a space where our families can engage in their native language about relevant topics in a roundtable discussion.
    • Nuestro Distrito | Our District ‐ Features MSCS staff, students, or departments with the services for our families.
  • Nota Escolar - MSCS Newsroom designed to meet the needs of bilingual families with stories and resources relevant to the community.
  • Spanish Hub - This website serves as a bilingual MSCS landing page with important information for students and families.
  • Social Media ‐ Designed to increase visibility and engagement with the Spanish community.

Translation Services: The Bilingual Communications team supports translation needs for District-level communication efforts, including:

  • District-issued forms, campaigns, flyers, brochures, letters, newsletters, graphics, robocalls, automated texts, surveys, announcements, emails, student handbooks, and any other type of document considered essential for parents/families.

Requesting District-Level Translations:

  • Please submit translation requests via the District-Wide Translation Request form found here: DISTRICT TRANSLATION FORM
  • Only submit final and approved documents. Time constraints do not allow for ongoing revisions and multiple updates on drafts.
  • Editable versions or documents need to be uploaded. Other types of files (non-editable) may result in delays.
  • Please note that we do not translate copyrighted materials or third-party documents.

Requesting School-Level Translations:

Most schools in MSCS have an assigned Bilingual Cultural Mentor that supports the schools with written and oral translations.

*Please note that “translations” involve written communication and “interpreters” involves spoken communication.
