The School Based Probation Liaison (SBPL) Program is a joint venture between Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS) and Juvenile Court of Memphis & Shelby County. The purpose of the program is:
- To provide intervention services for all youth charged with committing a delinquent act on campus
- To provide supervision and counseling to youth on probation within targeted school
- To increase school attendance
- To decrease the number of suspensions
- To increase academic performance
- To decrease the rate of recidivism
