Board Policies (March 25, 2025)
4014 Accidents on the Job
Board approved revisions in part
- change the policy title from Accidents on the Job to On-the-Job Injury;
- revise the timeframe for providing notification of an OJI from by the end of the day to no later than twenty-four (24) hours after the incident unless prevented by disability from the injury;
- clarify that medical expenses and lost wages under the OJI program must be the result of an injury and/or illness sustained out of and in the course and scope of employment with the District;
- make OJI benefits available to any employee injured in the course of employment by a physical assault or violent criminal act in accordance with new state law; and
- codify basic procedures for receiving medical treatment.
6003 Confidential Student Information
- Board approved revisions align the policy with applicable state laws
- replace reference to “GED” with high school equivalency credential approved by the state board of education;
- clarify that education records do not include records kept in the sole possession of the maker, are used only as a personal memory aid, and are not accessible or revealed to any other person except a temporary substitute for the maker of the record; and
- require parents/legal guardians to provide informed written consent before their minor child can participate in a survey, analysis, or evaluation.
Administrative Rules and Regulations
5005 Advanced Courses
Revisions:
- Include Pre-AP courses in the classification as Honors courses when meeting the state framework requirements
- Increase from 4 to 5 the additional percentage points used to calculate the semester average for Dual Enrollment courses completed in the 2024-2025 school year and thereafter.
5015 Grading System for Grades 6-12
Revisions:
- Align language with state rule
- Strike language applying to school year 2020-2021 regarding semester examinations
- Increase from 4 to 5 the additional percentage points used to calculate the semester average for Dual Enrollment courses completed in the 2024-2025 school year and thereafter
- Include Pre-AP courses in the classification as Honors courses when meeting the state framework requirements
- Include a limited exception for first-attempt summer coursework and EOC exam requirement
6036 Valedictorian and Salutatorian
Revisions:
- Include Pre-AP courses in the classification as Honors courses when meeting the state framework requirements
- Align rounding methodology with Uniform Grading scale
