The Board Office assists the Shelby County Board of Education members and their constituents with matters involving
the Board of Education and its business. The Board Office also partners with various departments within the MSCS
District to resolve constituent concerns.
Board Meetings
The Board Office produces the Board's meeting agendas using the
online application BoardDocs. On
BoardDocs, the public can access
agendas, documents, and videos for Board committees, Work Sessions, and Business Meetings.
All regular Shelby County Board of Education Business Meetings are held at the Francis E. Coe
Administration Building, 160 S. Hollywood Street, at 5:30 p.m. on the last Tuesday of each month. Members of the
public are invited to speak to the Board
during the Public Comment section of the Business Meetings at Business Meetings.
The Board holds Work Sessions on Tuesdays one week before all regular business meetings.
Public Comment
Time is set aside at each regularly scheduled Board Business Meeting to allow
Shelby County residents, businesses/organizations or District employees to address the Board. The sign-up period
begins 30 minutes before each regular Business Meeting and Special Called Meeting.

Constituent Services
The Board Office assists parents and the community communicate their
concerns to Board members. Parents are encouraged to seek resolution at the school level through the appropriate staff
member. In addition, Memphis-Shelby County Schools has Parent Liaisons at the Parent Welcome Center.
They are trained to support parents in resolving issues and concerns. The Parent Welcome Center is located at 2687
Avery Avenue, and can be reached at 901-416-5300.
