The Office of Student Services provides opportunities for students to excel through a variety of services by providing safe and orderly schools, involving parents and the community and protecting student rights and offering student interventions. Additionally, we afforded extended learning opportunities for students with after-school and summer programs and extracurricular activities, such as JROTC, athletic programs and student government.

Attendance & Discipline
The Department of Attendance and Discipline regulates standardized processes for discipline, enrollment, transfers, homebound education, 504 compliance and school-wide interventions. The department also provides accurate state reporting of discipline and attendance data and ensures district-wide compliance for the Office of Civil Rights.
The Shelby County Interscholastic Athletic Association’s (SCIAA) mission is to provide quality athletic environments and academic resources to support the social and academic growth of students. Opportunities are offered to students in grades 6-12 to participate in basketball baseball, football, soccer, softball, track & field, golf, swimming, tennis, wrestling, volleyball, cross country and bowling.
The Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) program is a character development program that is designed to help students who are dedicated to serving their nation and community become better citizens.
Safety & Security
The Department of Safety and Security works to ensure safe, secure and nurturing learning environments for students. Essential programs and services include: G.R.A.S.S.Y. (Gang Reduction Assistance for Saving Society’s Youth); gang intervention and prevention program in identified schools; and S.H.A.P.E. (School House Adjustment Program Enterprise). The department also provides emergency management oversight, including the maintenance and approval of all school level emergency management plans.
