"Dr. Whitelaw is a dedicated educator with a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of children and nurturing their potential," said Dr. Feagins. "Since I joined the district, she has been an invaluable resource, and I look forward to seeing how she leads this office."

The Office of the Deputy Superintendent will include departments -- such as Enrollment, Discipline, Counseling Services, and Social Emotional Learning -- that fall under Student Services, Student Wellness, and Student Experience, along with SOAR schools.

"Education is key to achieving one’s dreams and being successful in all future endeavors," said Dr. Whitelaw. "Children are the world's most valuable resource and its best hope for the future."

Over her 30-plus years of service, Dr. Whitelaw has served the district in many key roles, including Chief of Schools, Assistant Superintendent of Schools and Leadership, Instructional Leadership Director, Southwest Regional Coordinator, Principal, Assistant Principal and Instructional Resource Teacher.

Dr. Whitelaw is a Senatobia, Miss., native. She pursued her love of education by receiving a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Special Education from Mississippi State University. She later earned a second Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and then received a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Mississippi.
