District 9: Ridgeway High School Highlights Two Teachers of the Month

Ridgeway High School has already named its four Students of the Month for October. Now, they’ve announced two Teachers of the Month for October: Brooke Smith (ELA) and Amie Williams (Science).

Ridgeway High Principal Dr. Phillip Nelson said the “MVP of the Month” is an initiative that was implemented this year at Ridgeway to highlight students and teachers for their excellent work in the past month.

Only four students – one per grade – can win the monthly award, and they are voted on by the teachers and staff at the school. Regarding teachers, only one is recognized for excellence by the rest of the staff and the other teacher is voted on by the students at the school. At the end of the school year, one teacher will be recognized as the “Teacher of the Year.”

Congratulations to both teachers. Your excellent work and love for teaching are leaving a true legacy in our community!
