Ridgeway Middle School is taking proactive steps to bridge the gap between elementary and middle school. Recently, staff members embarked on a series of outreach initiatives to connect with younger students and their families.
One initiative involved IBC Slaughter and Counselor Williams attending Downtown Elementary School's Middle School Transition Fair. This provided an excellent opportunity to engage with students and parents, sharing information about the International Baccalaureate (IB) program and the multitude of benefits it offers.
In another outreach effort, Ridgeway staff visited Grahamwood Elementary to inspire their fifth-grade students. They shared insights into the IB program, highlighting its rigorous academic standards, unique learning experiences, and the development of essential life skills. By fostering a connection between the two schools, Ridgeway aims to ease the transition for fifth-graders and ignite their enthusiasm for the challenges and rewards of middle school.
