(Memphis, TN) – More than 400 prospective employees passed through the first of several Memphis-Shelby County Schools Next Up Hiring Blitz events held at the Teaching and Learning Academy on Tuesday, June 25. 

Some 394 interviews were held, and 157 on-the-spot hires were made, or recommendations given for hire. Of those, 57 were internal candidates. Available jobs include attendance liaison, dean of students, teacher, social worker, cafeteria worker, and other school-based support positions.
