Student Voices to Shape Superintendent’s Transition Team

Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS) Superintendent Dr. Marie N. Feagins has announced Legacy Builders, a 103-student transition team to help guide the District's decisions and shape its future. This action underscores Dr. Feagins' commitment to amplifying student voices and ensuring that the District's plans and initiatives directly address the needs and aspirations of its diverse student population.

"Students are at the heart of everything we do, and it is crucial that their voices are heard and their needs are met," said Dr. Feagins. “By including 103 students on the transition team, we are making an inspiring commitment to student leadership and input as the foundation for the success of our district.”

The student transition team represents a wide range of grade levels, backgrounds, and experiences. They were identified by school leaders as students who are committed to improving their schools and communities.

As MSCS embarks on a new era of leadership and innovation under Dr. Feagins, the inclusion of this historic student transition team promises to bring fresh perspectives, bold ideas, and a renewed sense of ownership and investment in the district's success.

The students will work closely with Dr. Feagins, sharing their experiences, ideas, and concerns to help shape the district's strategic plan and ensure its relevance and effectiveness.
