It’s January and, at MSCS, that means it’s time to Pick, Enroll! School Selection Season is here! We understand that parents and guardians strive to find the right school environment for their child. Thankfully, MSCS has a wide array of schools and programs designed to provide the best learning experience for our students. Whether looking for a school with a specialized learning focus, an innovative setting to meet their child’s unique learning needs, or a beloved school in your neighborhood, MSCS has the MOST choices for students and families! Early Online Registration

If your child is new or returning to the District next school year, get in the game early with our online registration. Parents can log in to the PowerSchool portal to register.  

Optional Schools Application 

MSCS offers over 40-plus, competitive, theme-based Optional programs. Each program is unique and they are all free for eligible students. Every Optional School has a specialized learning focus, including Enriched Academics, College Prep, International Studies, STEM, International Baccalaureate (IB), Creative & Performing Arts, Information Technology and more. There are entrance requirements that vary by school program. Online applications may be submitted starting Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023, beginning at 10 a.m.

General Choice Transfer

MSCS’ General Choice Transfer process may interest parents/guardians considering a school outside their zoned area. The process is open to all students in Shelby County. Many of our schools boast award-winning principals, teachers, arts programs and sports teams at the state and national levels, in addition to a wide variety of clubs, extracurriculars and support programs for all grades. Plus, our Ready Grad CCTE programs allow high school students to earn college credits and certifications in dozens of cutting-edge career and technical fields. MSCS will host its School Choice Showcase on Saturday, Jan. 28, from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. at the Hickory Ridge Towne Centre, 6075 Winchester Rd., Memphis, TN. The application period starts Jan. 31. General Choice applications are for all MSCS K-12 schools with available space.
