SCS is proud to announce the upcoming Virtual Family Forum: Mental Health and Health Awareness, taking place Saturday, February 27, 2021, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

- This session led by the Department of Early Childhood will offer tips, strategies and resources to support the mental health of parents and children during the pandemic.

Parenting in the Midst of a Pandemic and Other Losses - Baptist Centers for Good Grief

- Presenters from Baptist Centers for Good Grief will facilitate a discussion about grief and mourning, and their impact on children from the pandemic and other losses.

Supporting 504 Students with Mental Health and/or Behavioral Challenges - Student Equity Enrollment and Discipline S.E.E.D.

- This session will inform parents about interventions, supports and accommodations for 504 students with mental health and/or behavioral challenges. Responsibilities and expectations for teachers, students, counselors, and parents will be discussed.

ACEs: Trauma Responsive Strategies for Parents - Student Equity Enrollment and Discipline S.E.E.D.

- This session led by representatives from the S.E.E.D. Department will inform parents about the negative impact of ACEs and how trauma responsive strategies can help lessen the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).

How Are You Taking Care of You: Are You Checked-In or Checked-Out? SEED: School Counseling Services and Mental Health Services

- During unprecedented times like these, it is important to take care of ourselves. When you take time for self-care, you will be more prepared to care for your family. In this session, you will learn practical strategies to help you renew and recharge so that you can parent at your best. Also, this session will provide an overview of the roles of the school counselor and school social worker and how to access our support services.
