Earlier this week, Keystone Elementary was adopted by Whataburger.
Principal Brittany Brooks was connected to Whataburger through one of their speech contractors. After learning of this connection, Ms. Brooks attended the restaurant’s family and friends night. She introduced the opportunity of becoming adopters to Whataburger. They were eager about the idea. Their partnership will bring monthly coupons to Keystone’s “Champions,” funding for teacher appreciation week, and food donations for family meetings.
As part of Memphis-Shelby County Schools Superintendent Dr. Marie N. Feagins’ “C.O.M.E. to Win” initiative, champions are students who have 96% to 100% attendance in a 20-day period. These champion students will receive an additional incentive. Additionally, teachers who go above and beyond will also benefit from this partnership.
Through meaningful connections, Ms. Brooks says Keystone has a motto of being “better together.” Since last school year, one of Keystone’s goals has been to foster long-standing partnerships.
