It’s the most wonderful time of the year at Richland Elementary School as the young scholars and staff celebrate Richland Holiday Spirit Days, beginning Monday, December 16. This is the perfect celebration as Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS) prepares for winter break December 23 through January 3.
Monday, December 16, is “Deck the Halls Day.” Students are encouraged to wear their favorite holiday accessories (items such as jewelry, head bands, hats and scarves).
Tuesday, December 17, is “Ugly Sweater Day.” Pull out those tacky holiday sweaters and wear them proudly … the tackier the better.
Wednesday, December 18, is “Holiday Cheer Day.” Show your holiday spirit by wearing the colors of the season.
Thursday, December 19, is “Merry Grinch-mas.” In Dr. Seuss’ classic “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” the Grinch’s small heart grows three sizes after he realizes the true meaning of Christmas and returns to the Whos gifts he’d previously stolen. Richland scholars, wear your cutest Grinch gear, and make our hearts grow by three sizes.
Friday, December 20, is “Dream a Little Dream Day.” Students get the opportunity to wear pajamas to celebrate Polar Express Day!
