It was a night to remember as the White Station Elementary School recently welcomed families, students, and staff for its annual Multicultural Night, celebrating the rich diversity within the school community. The event saw a huge turnout, with families from various cultural backgrounds coming together to share their traditions, customs, and cuisines.
Setup with great enthusiasm by the school’s dedicated ESL teachers, the evening provided students a chance to explore and learn more about the vibrant cultures that make up their school. Pre-K teacher Thomas Denson expressed his excitement about the event’s success, sharing that the heart of the celebration lies in community engagement.
“Families are invited to host tables showcasing different components of their culture,” Mr. Denson explained. “It’s an incredible way to get parents involved while educating kids and other families about traditions they might not have experienced before. Events like this truly bring the community together.”
The event featured a variety of cultural displays, dances, and opportunities for students to interact with families at cultural tables. The energy in the room was contagious as students eagerly sampled foods from around the world.
“Our school is so diverse, and this event is a reflection of how much we value and celebrate that,” Mr. Denson said. “It’s about more than just learning—it’s about fostering connections and creating a space where everyone feels seen and valued.”
Families, students, and staff alike left the evening feeling inspired and proud to be part of such a welcoming and inclusive community. Multicultural Night not only celebrated diversity but also highlighted the strength and unity that comes from embracing it.
