A group of students from Memphis Merit Academy Charter School recently visited Cedar Hill Farm for a fun learning experience. It was a “farm-tastic” day, according to the school.
The students got to pet some animals, pick up their favorite pumpkin, ride a pony, and much more. At the same time, they learned a few facts about agriculture and farming, but more importantly, they had the opportunity to enjoy the peace and beauty of country life.
Located in the Community of Love, outside of Hernando, Mississippi, just minutes south of Memphis, Cedar Hill Farm is a family owned and operated farm with 120 acres of rolling hills, surrounded by cedar tree lined fences and woods. They offer a relaxing and fun-filled day on the farm for groups of all sizes, including schools.
A field trip to places like this can offer an invaluable opportunity for hands-on learning, personal growth, and social development. By stepping out of the classroom, students gain new perspectives and practical knowledge that make their education richer and more relevant to the world around them.
