District 3: E.E. Jeter Middle School Girls Volleyball Team Recognized at Tuesday's Board Meeting

During Memphis-Shelby County Schools’ Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 3, Vice Chair Stephanie Love, who represents District 3, recognized the girls volleyball team from E.E. Jeter K-8 School. The team earned this recognition based on their athletic achievement that included being undefeated in area play, area champions, sectional champions, and appearing in the state championship.

The Lady Jets were joined by their head coach, Michelle Barger, and assistant coach, Elise Perkins. Coach Barger gave a special thanks to MSCS Superintendent Dr. Marie N. Feagins and Principal Christopher Newson. She congratulated her players on their hard work and effort.

To Board Commissioner Love, Coach Barger said, “She has supported us vocally, socially, financially and we don't have very many businesses where our school is … we really appreciate all of your support for athletics at E.E. Jeter.”

The Lady Jets are the first MSCS middle school volleyball team to make it to the state tournament. Congrats to them!
