MSCS Holds Second NEXT UP Hiring Event

Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS) hosted its second “Next Up Hiring Blitz” on Tuesday, July 2, on the campus of East High School. As MSCS prepares for the 2024-25 school year, these job fairs are designed to welcome potential team members into positions that align with the District’s pressing needs.

“If we are saying that next is now in terms of where we’re headed for Memphis-Shelby County Schools, then we want to know who’s next up,” MSCS Superintendent Dr. Marie N. Feagins said. “We are looking for professionals who are ready, willing, and passionate about showing up and moving forward to do this work in our classrooms and in our schools to help elevate this District to its next level of excellence.”

More than 288 interviews were held at the July 2 event, and at least 77 on-the-spot hires were made, or recommended for hire. Of those, 48 were internal candidates and 29 were external candidates. Available positions include dean of students, teacher, attendance liaison, graduation coach, instructional coach, and other school-based support positions.

In anticipation of more than 115,000 students attending MSCS schools this upcoming school year, the District is committed to placing dedicated, dynamic professionals in schools to provide quality instruction and support.
