VOLUNTARY AND INVOLUNTARY TEACHER TRANSFERS

I. PURPOSE

To establish a procedure for the transfer of teachers.

II. SCOPE

This policy is applicable to teachers.

III. POLICY STATEMENT

The Superintendent, when necessary to the efficient operation of the school system, may transfer a teacher from one location to another within the school system, or from one type of work to another for which the teacher is qualified and licensed. When it becomes necessary to the efficient operation of the school system to transfer a teacher to another school within the school system, or from one type of work to another for which the teacher is qualified and licensed, the Superintendent shall notify the teacher in writing of that fact at least 5 (five) days prior to the date that the transfer will become effective.

IV. RESPONSIBILITY

A. The Superintendent (or designee) is responsible for implementing this policy and developing appropriate rules and regulations to accompany this policy.

B. The Superintendent is responsible for ensuring that this policy is followed.
