District 8: Red Ribbon Week at Barret’s Chapel School

Monday, October 28, marks the start of “Red Ribbon Week” at Barret’s Chapel School. The week is dedicated to reminding Barret’s Chapel students to lead a Drug Free Life, doing so by dressing up each day.

In a nod to the U.S. election season and Election Day on Tuesday, November 5, Monday’s theme is “I Elect to be Drug Free.” Students were encouraged to wear patriotic clothing.

The theme for Tuesday, October 29, is “We Are Too Bright to Do Drugs.” Students are encouraged to wear bright, neon clothing.

The theme for Wednesday, October 30, is “Team Up Against Drugs.” Students will have the opportunity to wear their favorite team’s spirit attire.

Thursday’s theme, on October 31, is “Drugs Are Out of Character.” Students can dress like their favorite book character (but no scary costumes are allowed).

And, on Friday, November 1, students are urged to “Follow Your Dreams, Not Drugs” by wearing dress-code appropriate pajamas.

Mrs. Abbye Miller has been principal at Barret’s Chapel since July 2019. Barret's Chapel, a PreK-8 school, offers many wonderful experiences, such as AgriSTEM activities for all students, including a Chicken Coop and Duck Coop.
