District 6: Celebrating Four Years of Community Partners Empowering Students at Levi Elementary and Riverview K-8

Students, staff, and teachers at Levi Elementary and Riverview K-8 celebrated four years since the SchoolSeed Foundation launched its Incentive Store at the schools. The Foundation has been investing in the schools to uplift student experiences. Students are rewarded with points for good behavior, attendance, and other academic accomplishments, which they can then redeem for a variety of school supplies, books, and other exciting yet useful goods at the store.

"For the past four years, we've seen incredible growth and enthusiasm among students," said Vincent J. McCaskill, President and CEO of SchoolSeed. "At SchoolSeed, we are committed to creating opportunities that inspire and motivate students to reach their full potential. By offering rewards like bikes and items that students truly desire, we're able to significantly boost their enthusiasm for learning and personal development. “

"The incentive store has been a game-changer for our school culture," Principal Dr. Nekia S. Patton at Levi Elementary shared. "Our students are more motivated, attendance has improved, and there is a noticeable decrease in behavioral issues…. It's heartening to see students taking pride in their accomplishments and striving to do their best every day."

Principal Rasheedah Cooperwood Jemison at Riverview K-8 has also observed a similar positive shift in student behavior, noting, " Over these four years, attendance has improved, behavioral issues have decreased significantly, and academics, as measured by formative and summative assessments such as TCAP, have improved as well. It's amazing to see how such incentives can drive positive change."

MSCS is proud of its community partners like SchoolSeed and is always looking to grow its partnership network. With collective effort and active collaboration, we can build a better future for our students.
