District 2: A Day of Empowerment at Kingsbury Middle – Early Detection Saves Lives

Kingsbury Middle School celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness with Free Mammogram Screenings.

October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time when communities come together to raise awareness about the importance of early detection and prevention. In honor of this significant cause, Kingsbury Middle School hosted a special event, offering free mammogram screenings to parents and community members.

On this wonderful day, the school welcomed the mobile mammography unit, which provided screenings for 16 MSCS moms. These free mammograms aimed to remove barriers to access, ensuring that those women had the opportunity to participate in the crucial early detection process.

The atmosphere was filled with hope, support, and unity, as families, students, and staff came together in the spirit of community. The event underscored the message to Kingsbury Middle School students that early detection saves lives, emphasizing that through collective efforts, we can make a real difference in the fight against breast cancer.

Breast cancer continues to be a major health concern, but with initiatives like these, Kingsbury Middle is demonstrating that awareness, action, and community involvement can save lives.
