Shelby County Schools Graduation Rate Improves for the Fourth Consecutive Year

September 19, 2017 4499 views

The state announced graduation rates for the 2016-17 school yea on Thursday, September 14. For the fourth year in a row, we've increased our graduation rate, rising nearly a full percentage point from 78.7 to 79.6 percent. This fact sheet details some of our school level highlights, including three schools with 100-percent grad rates, three with double-digit increases and 18 schools that topped 85 percent. Thanks to the hard work of our teachers, school leaders and support staff, we have increased the graduation rate over 7 percentage points since 2014. We know it's going to take a great amount of focus and effort to reach our goal of 90-percent on-time graduation by 2025, but it's important to celebrate our progress along the way!
