We know there has been some misinformation and confusion surrounding tonight's meeting for SCS teachers, so we provided some facts below. We've also attached a copy of the letter sent by Superintendent Dorsey Hopson to Keith Williams of the Memphis-Shelby County Education Association (M-SCEA) regarding tonight's meeting.

WHAT:  Internal meeting with designated teacher reps from all schools

WHERE:  Board Auditorium, 160 S. Hollywood St.

WHEN:  Wednesday, August 28, 2013 – 5 p.m.
 

• Tonight’s meeting is a Q & A opportunity for SCS designated teacher reps from all schools. This meeting aligns with the district’s 2013-14 stakeholder engagement plan.
• This is an INTERNAL staff meeting. This meeting is not open to media or the general public. 
• The M-SCEA has invited designated teacher representatives from each school to attend tonight’s meeting.
• Notifications/advertisements about this meeting were not provided by the district, so any details previously communicated should not be considered “official.”
• This is the only confirmed teacher meeting. No meeting has been confirmed for September 4, 2013.
