OUR MISSION
The mission of the Youth Advocacy Program is to use a collaborative effort to support and advocate for teen parents, ensuring their comprehensive needs are met while attending Memphis-Shelby County Schools.

OUR VISION
Our highest aspiration is to see teen parents successful during their academic career and beyond. Our infrastructure of community resources and strong school wide partnerships will enable us to successfully increase our teen parent graduation rate while promoting secondary educational goals.

CHILDCARE CENTER
The Johnny B. Watson Childcare Center is free to students attending Memphis-Shelby County Schools pending childcare availability and age requirement. The Johnny B. Watson Childcare Center only services children from 6 weeks up to 2 years of age. It is located inside Northwest Prep Academy in the old Airways Middle school building at 2601 Ketchum, Memphis, TN 381114.

Students may have an option to attend Northwest Prep Academy based on their transcript to accelerate their academic career. While attending NWPA, the student can utilize childcare service at the Johnny B. Watson onsite center. Teen parents (male and female) can attend classes while their infant/toddler attends the childcare center in one central location.
