Health Services – School Nurse Program School Nurses in Memphis-Shelby County Schools are stepping up to help students meet the challenges they face today and are working to support education and advance student health. Good health, healthy lifestyles and an increase in graduation rates are School Nursing Goals. (NASN)

Vision The vision of the Memphis-Shelby County Schools Health Services School Nurse Program is to provide student centered quality health services that will improve health outcomes and academic achievement.

Mission It is the mission of Memphis-Shelby County Schools Health Services School Nurse Program to meet the health needs of all students in a manner that will minimize disruption to the academic process.

The School Nurse Program provides health services that are delivered and supervised by a staff of school nurses who appraise, protect, and promote the health of all students. These services include health assessment, planning, coordination of care and direct care services for all children, including those with special health care needs.

Parents should contact the School Nurse Program Staff for guidance and assistance related to a health or medical situation that will need to be addressed in the school setting.
